Configuration Process

Post by Pat »

Every time I run Word 2007 I get the message that it is going through a Configuration process which takes a couple of minutes. This is frustrating.
Any ideas?

Fixed.
I ran this from the command prompt:
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

For more details on this fix that Pat has posted, see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2528748

If you are using Office 2010, use this line below:
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

If you have more than one version of Word installed, this may happen every time you switch to a different version.

Thanks Dave I knew and expect that, but when I only use 2007 consistently it got my back up.
