Now that I'm getting more used to Word 2007, I wanted to add a new, customized tab to the ribbon. Interestingly, there wasn't readily available information on this topic on the internet. Then I found this:
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customization ... vanced.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Does adding a new tab to the ribbon have to be this complex in Word 2007? I'm thinking of upgrading to Word 2013 anyway, but this may just be the straw that broke the camel's back. If there is no easier way to customize the ribbon than doing programming, I must say that Word 2007 was an utter failure from my perspective.
Does Word 2013 provide better customization of the ribbon?
[Word 2007] Is adding a new tab to the ribbon this complex?

Word 2010 and 2013 allow you to add custom tabs to the ribbon interactively, without programming.
They are better than Word 2007 in all other respects too.
