Office 2016 is fast...

Post by Rudi »

Hi,

I've just upgraded to Office 2016 Professional Plus (running on Win 7 Enterprise 64 bit) and my immediate impressions are....It is FAST!

I don't know if others would agree, but it just seems to be a stand out for me? Every action, from opening the app to interacting with data in it seems to be more pacy than in Office 2013. After a few hours of work, I'm happy with the installation. I'm still just getting used to the QAT buttons being completely monotone white while on the colourful theme, (though the buttons have there normal colour if placed below the ribbon).

Just thought I'd give my 2 cents comment
Regards,
Rudi

Office 2016 generally works well. There are some nice new features, but also a few annoying bugs...
Best wishes,
Hans

Nice to know. I got Office 2016 Pro Plus 2016 for £tiny through the MS Home Use Program. All I need now is a PC capable of running it

I too have gone to Office 365 (2016) on my new Windows 10 machine. It does run fast, but I still miss the older colorful interface.

I have been running Office 365 on my Windows 7 32 bit machine now for a little over a year. Just upgraded it to 2016 version about a week ago.
I have a 5 device license for Office 365.

I consider Office 2013 that our company distributed as the approved "Office 365" version to be the "50 Shades of Gray" of software -- no color and painful to use!

EVERYTHING is slower, harder to find (I LIKE COLOR!) and I haven't found anything yet to justify the pain and suffering inflicted by the upgrade from 2007.

Glad to hear 2016 is faster. I'll look forward to getting that, maybe through Home Use...

A question for Rudi- how did you get the buttons below the ribbon? This sounds like a boon for ageing eyes!

Hi Amelia,

Just right click on the QAT and select "Show below ribbon".

Oh dear- I misunderstood. Thank you Rudi.
I already have the QAT below the ribbon. I was imagining the buttons freed from their background and lurking in a greatly enhanced state below the QAT!
