This is another strange, inexplicable phenomenon.
The recent documents lists have been emptied across all of the Office 365 apps! Although this is not a fatal error, in and of itself, this is very frustrating and annoying. Can anyone tell me why this has happened and how I can fix it?

Do you run a "cleaner" utility such as CCleaner?
Best wishes,
Hans

Have you tried repairing your Office installation through the Programs and Features control panel?
Best wishes,

Are the docs that have been cleared from the lists held on OneDrive?
Has the number of items on the list been set to zero (File|Options|Advanced then scroll down to the section headed 'Display')?

Hi New Daddy.New Daddy wrote:The recent documents lists have been emptied across...
I shall be following this thread with interest.
A colleague running, I think, Win7 has alerted me to strange effects with the "Recent" folders.
This is on my "ToDo" list, but I have a vague idea that Win7 changes the name of folders and/or keys when "something" happens; might be that the user provides access to a hidden folder ...
I mention this like clutching at a straw, because one of my applications would suddenly "not see" recent file lists when it tried to collect them from the registry.

Some, but not all. I prefer to keep my working documents on Dropbox. I use OneDrive for company files.stuck wrote:Are the docs that have been cleared from the lists held on OneDrive?

Repairing Office is painless - it doesn't take long, and it doesn't affect your documents.
Best wishes,

What OS are you running? IIRC, with a Windows 10 update there were reported issued of MRU lists being lost/deleted/cleared.
