Visio templates

I was searching for some Visio shapes and came across the following short discussion


The link it references for kitchen templates gets you to the office templates but NOT to the templates referenced. Does anyone know where or how I might find those templates?

It looks like Microsoft has withdrawn most Visio templates from their Templates and Download sites...

I can't find any third-party kitchen design templates for Visio either.

Hi Don,

Assuming you have Visio, you could do a shapes search and a templates search from within Visio.

I opened Visio 2010 and first did a shapes search for "Kitchen"
It provided me with the following shapes...

After this, I did a templates search in the New tab of the backstage screen...

It found three kitchen layouts. When you double click on one (or all) it installs the template and any extra shapes used in the template. I opened two of the additional shape galleries that came with the template download, and got these:

I have Visio 2007 Pro and it includes all the cabinets but I was looking for the layouts as you show above. No joy.

I don't know what backstage screen is.

In Office 2010 products, the file menu has become a new, more elaborate window, presenting large graphical displays across the entire screen. This is the backstage area in Visio 2010. Its just a matter of clicking the File tab and one gets to these screens as illustrated below. I'm sure you will still be able to search for templates in Visio 2007 through the file menu or templates dialog?, but I cannot remember exactly where to go...
