Wiki On Windows Terms for Panels and Displays

This might not be specific to WinXP; so if the admins want to move it, please do.

In trying to find some settings today in my WindowsXP SP3 install, I realized that I don't know the terms used to reference some of the common components. I know the title bar and the system tray and the Start icon, but what is the name of the panel that displays when one clicks "Start"? That's just one example.

What I would really like to have is a wiki site that names the different features and components of Windows so that I will know how to search for information on setting options, etc. and how to refer to them intelligibly when posting.

The panel is the Start Menu.
