I would never trust a 'driver updater' that claims to be able to update all the drivers on your PC. There are dozens of such utilities out there but they are invariably just vehicles to infect your PC.
It is my opinion that although it is slow and tedious, going to each manufacturer's website and searching for drivers for your hardware and then downloading them, from that site, is the only 'safe' way to update drivers.

Also, drivers need to be updated ONLY if one is having issues with a device.

There might be other reasons for releasing an update. Could be different\faster ways to access the device. Elimination of unneeded info or data, etc. I always keep my drivers up to date, wheather I'm having an issue or not.DaveA wrote:Also, drivers need to be updated ONLY if one is having issues with a device.

viking33,
It would help if there was a update status of what each update did fix and/or improve.
Most write if any don't tell one much.

That's very true Dave. If you were wary about those new drivers then you could just use their list of outdated drivers and go to the manufacturers site and get them. At least the updater program can advise you of the availability of new updates.DaveA wrote:viking33,
