AppData\Local\Temp

Post by DaveA »

Can all of the entries of "C:\Users\"Account Name"\AppData\Local\Temp" be completly deleted?

Also at the "C:\Users\"Account Name"\AppData\Local\? level the is a big number of folders such as "{00A0D227-2311-4B66-8B6C-F153B816E554}", which are empty can they also be deleted?

In principle, yes. It's a good idea to close all applications before clearing the folder. If a temporary file is still in use, you'll get a message that its locked.

You can also use a utility such as CCleaner for this purpose.
Best wishes,

I have no similar files on a couple of PCs here, so I suspect these come from an application that you have installed. If they are empty folders then there is nothing to be gained by deleting them.

As far as I know, those folders are created by Windows Live Essentials. It's a bug, but a harmless one - the empty folders don't take up any space.
Best wishes,
Hans
