We have a Windows 7 Starter machine in which the Acronis folder was dragged from the menu to the Desktop.
How do we get it back to the Start menu under All programs?

Re: Dragged a folder from Start Menu to desktop
You can drag it back, holding down the mouse button until you're finished:
- Drag the folder from the desktop to the start button.
- Wait until the start menu pops up.
- Drag the folder to All Programs.
- Wait until All Programs appears.
- Drag the folder to the position where you want it.
- Release the mouse button.
- Drag the folder from the desktop to the start button.
- Wait until the start menu pops up.
- Drag the folder to All Programs.
- Wait until All Programs appears.
- Drag the folder to the position where you want it.
- Release the mouse button.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Dragged a folder from Start Menu to desktop
Is this a trick question, Dave?
Drag the shortcut in question to hover over the Start orb until the start menu opens. Hover over All Programs until it opens. Drop the shortcut in the All Programs list.
Edit: Oops, not quick enough!

Thanks to BOTH of you. We were trying to do it from within Windows Explorer and all we could get was "You do NOT have permission .................................."
