Podcasts with Windows 7?

Post by Pilgrim »

I have a client who asked me a question about podcasts which I know nothing about. In fact, I don't even know what a "podcast" is!! Image

Here's her question:
I am trying to get/open a web site to get daily podcasts. Computer says I do not have the software.
Can someone help me out by providing an answer to this question? I have no idea what, if anything, is needed.

THANKS!

I'm not really "up" on podcasting either, Jeff but good old Wikipedia gives some info.

Apparently there IS some software required to DL podcasts.

Okay..... it's something relatively new and something I would never be interested in personally, hehe. But I did follow a link in that Wiki article on podcast software and there is a impressive list for Windows alone.

Soooooo, the BIG question, I guess, is: What would be the recommended software from those who are familiar with podcasting? I would say that nothing fancy or loaded with features is required for this individual, else she wouldn't be able to figure out how to use it.

I'm not familiar as such, but as my step-mum can manage, I can't believe it's too difficult! Basically, you just need speakers on your PC....

More helpful (typical) information about podcasts at BBC - Podcasts - Help which, although aimed at what the BBC produces, will hopefully ease any concerns.
