Security Question

Post by Roderunner »

Hi Folks,
Today, I attempted to send a file to my brother, it was a .pdf. I right clicked it and selected 'compress and email' using 7Zip.
Mozilla Thunderbird & FF portable (signed in as me was open.
I got this:-
RR.jpg
Think is was about the programs that were open, I clicked OK.
Thunderbird saves a record of sent mail, it was empty.
Logging into my Gmail on FF portable, it was not shown. I did not show on installed FF.
I looked again after writing this, it's still not showing.
Any idea what was used to send the original ?????

The message was generated by Thunderbird.

Did the message reach your brother?

Hans

Hi Hans, I have been looking at the Account Settings & Options in Thunderbird, their is nothing related to this.
I resent the same to my brother by attaching the pdf and sending the mail directly in TB.
I know he got the second mail but he was unable to open the zipped file on his phone.
Will contact him later.
Going to look in Gmail Settings.

You could test by sending a message to yourself the same way (using 7-Zip) - at least you'll know if the message is actually being sent.
Best wishes,
Hans

In the process of attempting your suggestion, to send to another email account I have, I clicked 'OK' and everything disappeared before I got the option to enter an email address.
That makes me a
