Find files with same name (excluding suffix)

I'm trying to find some duplicate files. I think I have 7 files which appear as jpg files and also - with an identical prefix, as RAW files

for example,

2014-05-29 - 11-38-03 - Dee - 60072.jpg

AND

2014-05-29 - 11-38-03 - Dee - 60072.CR2


I'm fairly confident that the two files will be in the same folder which are all created and sorted by date. I'm also pretty confident that the only suffixes of interest are jpg & CR2


The problem I have is that I have 40,000 files to search through, so I need an automated solution

Any suggestions welcome.

It may be worth checking if any of the applications suggested in Eileen's Lounge • View topic - deleting or combining duplicate folder/files can do what you want.

Hi Colin,

I have been using Duplicate Cleaner Free for a long time now and it is a very good app to find and clean up duplicates using a combination of options and filters to finetune what is determined as duplicates.
You can use the file filters on the right to only look for the two file types you refer to...

Unfortunately Rudi's response came after I had solved the problem manually.

I wasn't able to use the two files recommended by Hans (This may have been my error, that I did not spot the right options).

However WinMerge which was mentioned by someone else later in the referred thread was a pain to remove. Again, this may have been my fault, but judging by my Google search, others have the same prob, and a registry edit was needed to remove the prog.
