Is it possible to play a sound when a minimized program is maximized?

Yes you can.

If you go to the sound setting in the control panel, you can set a sound for the maximize action. See image...

Note you have two setting to ensure a window plays a sound when maximized.
1. Add a sound to the action : maximize (this plays when a restored window maximizes)
2. Add a sound to the action : restore up (this plays the sound when a minimized window is maximized)

Note: When you change window themes, this will be lost...
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

If your absence does not affect them, your presence didn't matter.

Hans,

Thanks for the information. Is it possible to apply it to only one application? I use an IP Communicator (VOIP) and would like to hear a tone through the laptop speaker not the headset as I don't always wear it.

John

Rudi posted that reply, not I!

The sound scheme applies to all applications, you can't limit it to specific applications. Unless your VOIP application has a built-in option to notify you with a sound when it is restored/maximized, I don't think you can do what you want.
Best wishes,
Hans
