According to http://www.windowsbbs.com/pc-hardware/7 ... ivity.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, you can adjust the sensitivity of the mousepad for an HP laptop with a Synaptics touchpad by going to:
Control Panel > Mouse > Device Settings > Settings > Sensitivity.
I got all the way to Settings but then got stuck. Any points on how to get to sensitivity?

Can you post a screenshot of the Settings dialog?

I now see what must be done. I have to click on the arrow next to Pointing which expands the options and reveals the Sensitivity option.
