Deleting awkward files

Post by ChrisGreaves »

All the usual caveats apply, thanks Hans!
"Be very sure that you know what you're doing before you delete a file protected by Windows".
None the less, you will run across occasional temporary files or folders, prefixed with ~, or TMP files in awkward places.
Any number of freeware/shareware application programs will delete files for you.
Here's an example from Piriform Defraggler v 1.12.152, where I have right-clicked on the name of an awkward file, giving me the option to jump directly to the containing folder, when Win7 HP Explorer wouldn't allow me that luxury.
Again: Exercise caution.

"No-one.", "I'm pre-empting a comment from Hans ", and ... "It usually seems that way" respectively.
