my email account with hotmail is blocked. The email that I gave over 10 years ago is closed and I can recover it. I google "Hotmail hacked" and I got 200 bangladeshis, indians and from katmandu asking me U$S 100 to recover the account. I have the feeling that those "mechanics" are the ones creating the problem and subsequent benefits. Is there any compassionate soul that can help me? I tried the Hotmail forums but (can it be more ridiculous?) they require you to log in to post the question. Please help!!

You can *read* the posts om the Microsoft forums for Hotmail without being logged in - see for example How can I get rid of Account Blocked and other errors in Hotmail?
If you do need to post there to get someone to take action, you might get a new Windows Live/Hotmail account. That would let you sign in and post a question in the Hotmail sign-in and sign-up forum.
