Hi,
I have someone who has lost to "New Text File" option in their context menu when right clicking on a blank area in Windows Explorer.
They want to get it back.
In this link, there is a few options, including a Shell tool to modify this, but the person is saying it is not working!
Can I fix the menu option in Windows itself, or MUST I run a .reg file to correct it?
I am willing to try anything (or at least give it as step by step help) to the person who needs it.
What is the easiest option to correct this menu?
TX

Re: Modify Win Explorer Context Menu (New)
This is what the relevant part of the registry looks like to me (HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.txt\ShellNew):
I have exported the ShellNew key to a .reg file and attached it in a zip file. The user could open (double-click) the .reg file.
