Whats happens when one was to delete their attachments from within "Manage Attachments"?
Do they also get deleted from the post that they were posted in?

Let's try it, Dave...DaveA wrote:Whats happens when one was to delete their attachments from within "Manage Attachments"?

Edited later: The puppy showed nicely when I made the post. I went to my Control Panel, deleted the pix and now you see what results. Not an error msg per se, but an "empty" identifier.

Re: Attachments
You're faster than I, Al. I was attempting the same test, but now I don't have to.

Re: Attachments
And ya know, on reflection that "empty identifier" as I called it isn't necessarily a bad thing. If someone deletes an attachment that is significant to the thread or is needed later, he/she could at least be told the missing file name to see if it could be retrieved.
Good topic, Dave!

Re: Attachments
And if you add an attachment to a post but then don't submit it, the attachment is still on the server, but as an "orphan" - it doesn't belong to anything anymore. Fortunately, admins can easily remove such orphan attachments.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Attachments
What is our as a user "storage space" the we all have when it comes to attachments?
I can see some of us, filling the max if it is a low amount of space.

Re: Attachments
There is no per-user limit. The total space allotted for attachments for all users combined is currently set at 5 GB, but that can easily be expanded if necessary. We're currently at 9 MB, so we're not in trouble yet...
Best wishes,
Hans
