Private Message Notifications

Hi,

In the User Control Panel I see the option to have a popup display on new private messages. My setting has been on forever, but I can never recall having a popup notification on the receipt of a PM. All I have is the # new messages indicator in the User Menu on the left of the Portal Home Page (and often times I don't see the PM until the next time I log in. Is there a dysfunctional popup actually available or is this a skins thing (since I use Prosilver)? It would be nice to have a popup appear to indicate new PM's in my inbox.

Check you don't have a pop-up blocker in place, and if you do, set it to allow the Lounge to pop up messages.

OK...in my negligence I must be missing the point. I too get an email in you Gmail inbox regarding a PM sent, but I was under the impression that it was an actual popup msgbox that appears "within" the lounge, like a text bubble or something. I have seen this type of popup in other forums. Roadrunner, is your screenshot also taken from your email inbox?

Yep, pop-up window appeared as expected:

(I'm on subsilver2 but I doubt if that would make a difference...)

That's it....that's what I'm after...
I'll have to dig into my settings and extensions to see if anything is blocking these notifications.

Where was that screenshot taken from? ( the one with permissions,
etc. ) Maybe it's the difference in skins?
I use Rainbow Pearl.

Hi Bob,

This is a Chrome thing...not anything in the lounge...
If I click on the icon in front of the web address in the address bar, Chrome presents this list of options in a drop down for any web page...

Thanks, Paul. I do have that option checked but I was interested in that total screenshot of that drop down. It didn't look familiar at all and I was interested in where it was located.
